Last week was a huge week for us and the generosity and love that we have received from our friends and family and co-workers has just been incredible.

On Wednesday I emailed my co-workers to announce our plans for adoption. The next morning, I went to my mailbox and there was a sticky note on an envelope that said simply "Congratulations on your adoption. Good luck!" In the envelope was a $100 bill.

On Friday, we made the announcement on Facebook--over 100 friends liked our pictures and our announcement post.

By Saturday we had raised $1000 for our Baby fund.

So. Much. Love.

Our total costs for the adoption through Catholic Charities is $26,500 and so we are hoping to raise $25,000. We decided to make our adoption "public" once we had made our first payment of $3,000, which we did in December. Our full amount of the adoption is then due when our child is placed with us, with a third being due at the beginning of March, and a third being due three months later. If a child is placed with us before that, then the full amount is due.

Gulp. This is where we trust God and rely on the help of our friends.

So, without further ado, allow me to introduce the Caruthers Puzz.

We've had a 1000-piece puzzle made up, which will be framed and put in Baby C's nursery with the design shown above. "For this child I have prayed, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him."  You can help God to answer our prayers by making adoption a financial possibility for us.

Each piece represents a $25 donation, which we will put together as we have the donations. On the back we will write the name/ message from the person who donated. Once it is completed we will frame it between glass, so that we can show our little one how they much they were loved, supported and prayed for by so many people even before they were born.

We'd love to put your name on the back of our puzzle! The money you donate will go to help us cover our adoption costs, the bulk of which goes to helping a woman (or more than one woman) in a crisis pregnancy to choose life--if she needs money for healthcare, or food or a safe place to live.
